Chromium picolinate and polynicotinate can help manage glucose and improve insulin response, but it won't give you a license to eat carbs with impunity. I'd also add ALA to the diet when you're eating carbs. But... for optimum bodyfat loss, forget the pre-workout fruit altogether, and add 15-25 g of post-workout dextrose with your shake.
