Mumbai's Beloved Butter Garlic Pepper Shrimp

1.00 lb(s), Shrimp - Raw
3.00 tbsp(s), Butter - Salted
1.00 tsp(s), Mustard - Yellow prepared
1.00 tsp(s), Spices - Mustard seed, yellow (optional)
Black pepper to taste
1.00 tsp, Oil - Vegetable, canola
7.00 cloves, Garlic

Folks in Mumbai die for this shrimp, made famous by a restaurant called Gajalee. Ideally you should grind whole black pepper, prepared mustard, yellow mustard seeds (if you can find them, at an Indian store) and several cloves of garlic together. Then sauté this mixture in melted butter for 3-4 minutes. Add raw shrimp to this and stir fry for another five minutes.

I have served this with flax chips to my non low carb eating DH and he couldn't stop eating it.

Frozen shrimp should be no problem at all after you thaw it. If it's pre cooked, just toss it in and let it warm through in the sauce without the heat on for 10 minutes. If frozen raw, just thaw and follow the same directions.

I'm very happy that you like the recipes. Let me know how they turn out.

I'm sure I've found mustard seeds in my local Sprouts or Whole Foods (aka health-oriented grocery store).

Great! If you see both black and white mustard seeds, I recommend the white ones. Black ones can be slightly bitter unless you like that.
