Hypothyroid and Heart rate during Exercise
I looked all over and searched for the information and just can't seem to find much. I was wondering if a symptom of hypothyroid is that when you exercise your heart rate goes very high, even at moderate intensity.
Any info would be great, Thanks |
Not that I've heard. Hyperthyroid, the opposite condition, is usually associated with rapid heart rate, generally hypothyroid is the opposite. You might want to use google though, I don't claim to know everything about it. :)

That happened to me in the very beginning of hypothyroid when my thyroid began to slow down. It took years to recover to where my exercise heart rate returned to a normal range. I have not read anything to confirm the connection to low thyroid, but I suspect it is connected somehow, even if only from over training and stressing the thyroid beyond it's healthy output. |
Yes that can occur when your adrenals are not addressed if you are hypothyroid. I have poorly functioning adrenals and when I first went on my thyroid meds my heart almost jumped out of my chest during exercise. My doctor and I then realised that I needed to sort out my adrenals.
You might like this website http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.asp. Scroll down and you will see heart palps referenced in thyroid and adrenals. It could also be low ferritin http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ferritin/.
