Some folks use 3 bowls or small plates to make it easy to get that 1/3 balance, or you can use a plate and just try to visually check the balance that way.

That is really inventive!!

OK - I did the test and got 100%. But hey - that's good news: I always thought I was addicted to all food but, unlike a smoker or alcoholic, couldn't give it up completely so could never win. Now I know it's just the carbs, so actually that's much more hopeful!!

oh what a nice quiz.
according to it, i am not a carb addict.
if i had taken it before i began eating more meat and very few carbs... i would have been considered a serious carb addict.

how eye opening. i have prevailed.

My result.

You appear to have a mild carbohydrate addiction which, at times, you may be able to control (although not at all times) and with some difficulty.

Oh I'm a full blown 100% carbohydrate addict.

I answered yes to every one of the questions except one. Found another test at http://www.tfdsanford.com/images/Ca...et_Test-TFD.pdf. According to the first test I'm a severe carb addict. According to the second, I'm a moderate carb addict. I tend to believe the accuracy of the second a bit more than the first, but I'm definitely a carb addict. That part can't be denied.

I answered all the questions as I would have several weeks ago, before I gave up sweets and went through sugar-withdrawal. I don't really have enough "new life experience" to answer the quiz based on my new paradigm of eating. Maybe I'll revisit the test in another month or so.

I just took the test and I'm a severe addict, I got a 10. I guess you can say I passed! I've known this for some time but it seams like Drs don't know about it. Isn't that crazy?

I read up about carb addiction and how one Diet Dr was treating it and printed the whole thing off. I bet it was 15 pages long, and gave it to my Dr. He admitted that he read the first page and told me if I want I can long my meals and bring it to him to look over and he can put me on an exercise program. In my opinion, he did not take me seriousely. Later, his nurse told me that she read the papers and she thought there was something to it. She is very heavy and been with WW for years only to loose 20 lbs, she struggles daily too.

I would love to find a Dr that can actually listen and treat it.

Just reconnected with this site. I took both tests and am a severe carb addict. Lucky me! Now what? Which diet do I try? Not Atkins.

Consider CALP - the second book by the Hellers (calp is short for carbohydrate addicts lifespan program - ignore the rest of the title, it was for marketing, it's not just for those 40 and up.).
CALP is not for just weight loss though many do lose a good amount on it (100 or more), but it is a lifestyle and very doable for maintenance if you use another lc diet to lose.

If you are an atkins leaning person who doesn't decide to do atkins, go check out George Stella's "stella style"...at the least, get his cookbooks - just awesome recipes, many that work well with calp, and other LC approaches :) (his most recent I'm not as much a fan of, get one of his earlier cookbooks).

I'm a carb addict. I knew I was so this just supports my suspicions.
