Is Ketosis Just Another Word for Starving?
 
This excellent presentation by Amber O'Hearn touches on a lot of topics we discuss frequently such as how much protein, how to get into and stay in ketosis, etc:

My biggest takeaway? Animal studies are very inaccurate for human metabolic comparisons.

Yeah, I remember talking to hospice workers about ketosis in dying people. They mentioned they don't suffer if they don't eat because the ketones suppress the appetite. I thought to myself, "Yes, of course!" So it is similar to starving but not really the same. When you're fasting your body breaks down muscles for protein and it doesn't have to do that when you're giving it some protein.
