question about carbs on nutrition label...
 

so i've been getting these shirataki noodles and i'm not sure how the nutrition label can be correct. it says 0 calories, but 2 carbs per 1/3 cup, and no fiber carbs are listed. if there are carbs in it, then it has to have calories too.

how would you track the carbs from these things?

I think that is an error on the label. I order mine over the internet, its a lot cheaper, and every other package I've looked at says the carbs are equal to the fiber meaning its zero "net carbs".

I get mine from konjac foods too. Shirataki noodles are 100% soluble fiber. In other words they are 0 net carbs.

i'm pretty sure that konjac foods doesn't ship to canada.

i'm guessing that the nutrition label on the shiratakis that i've been getting is just missing the fiber grams. i've been eating them and it doesn't feel like 2G/1/3c of anything that counts.

now i'm just hoping that the labelling issue doesn't cause distribution problems. it's hard enough to get products in canada because of the bilingual labelling that's required here.

Zoogirl, i usually just order them online, and then they're delivered right to my door. :)

if you've never had shirataki noodles before, make sure you rinse them really well before you cook them, and i like to fry off some of the liquid in a hot frying pan.

Not sure what region in Canada you're at, but House Foods brand shirataki noodles are available in many grocery stores in the tofu section. They have both the tofu shirataki, and plain "konjac" angel hair noodles.
