Good Luck to all

March will be 2 years clean from nic. My delivery method of choice, was a $ 65.00 a week NIC GUM HABIT.

I started with chew, moved to cigars & NIC GUM. For those who have never chewed, believe me it is a MOTHER to kick.

My only word of advice ( warning) is that I relapsed many times by thinking I could just have a cigar, one chew on the golf course, etc. the only way I been able to stay clean is to kick 100%, no chipping. I know that today if I try any nicotine what so ever, I am screwed.

so I take it one day at a time, ZERO NIC in any form... best of luck to all

Way to go Kevin! Did you use the patch or did you go cold turkey? Today is my first day on the patch, and it feels worse than going cold turkey. After 6 hours, I decided to quit. Smoked while wearing the patch, and got the usual morning cig buz. This may indicate the patch isn't working for me due to my size. It has a warning not to use more than one patch so I didn't double on them.

COLD TURKEY

I have no idea how I made it through the first day.... cold turkey... but I did scale back a bit in the days before quitting... it sucks big time...BUT... it is worth it....

Best wishes

Kevin

On quit day, smoke your usual 5 billion morning cigarettes - takes one to know one ;) - then, slap on the patch. You won't feel as deprived.

Keep a cinnamon stick around to chew...

I called up their 800 number and discovered a few things. The lady told me that it takes 2 hours for the patch to start releasing the nicotine, and another 4 hours to reach a steady full dose.

What I'll do tonight is slap it on just before going to bed. This may disturb my sleep the first night, but for the following nights, I can keep the old patch till morning, then put the new one when I wake up. This should hopefully eliminate the long wait.

You'll have the wildest dreams with the patch. I enjoyed them!

OH NO

I'm so mad at myself, I quit smoking for 6 months and a few days ago I got so upset that I grabbed a cigarette then another and ended up smoking 5 in a row now I'm almost up to a pack a day again, there's two more in this pack and after that I'll try again to quit. :(
