supplements

HI all
I am still trying to figure out what supplements to take. Probiotic? Magnesium ( def), but I stopped taking HCL recently. I was getting tired of all the vitamins, I also take B vitamin and multi.

Does anyone think the HCL is a help. Also, any reactions to the probiotic during the low carb journey?

I was trying to find something by Votec and Phinney because I like their advice, but can't find anything regarding supplements.

I would appreciate any thoughts.

I take co enzyme Q10 occasionally when I remember, but nothing else. I do have an energy drink once a day, cos that apparently has vitamin B in it (and it wakes me up in the mornings lol) and I eat a bag of mixed nuts most days, they contain selenium - but I dont really worry about it.

I think the main supplements that are recommended are chelated magnesium, potassium in some form (I use lo salt), D3 if your levels are low or you don't get much sun and omega 3. Some suggest a quality multi, but others don't rate them.

Apart from that it's very individual according to your needs.

Thanks for the comments.

I am going to try and just reduce my supplements. It is exhausting and expensive.

Also, I am going to stop using so many different cosmetics. I think certain products are not good.. talc.

IMHO Unless you have a problem, I don't think HCL does any good. If you do have a stomach acid problem, you are probably better off taking what a good doctor would prescribe.

Since I don't eat much fruit or veggies, I take a mega-multi that supposedly has the beneficial extracts in them (who really knows if there is any truth in advertising?). I take a few others as well, targeted for specific health challenges that I've had or that run in my family.

Yes, it can get expensive, but my health is priceless.
