middle of the pack for a FIRST time out is more than respectable! Way to go!

Awesome job!!!! Congratulations.
Are you planning any more 5k runs?

Skyliz Sun, Sep-20-09 15:40

My goodness, 65 lbs weightloss in 8 months' time! That's absolutely astonishing.

And now you're being a role model again, having finished your 1st 5 k run in less than half an hour.

Well done, John!

How do you guys train? I would love to be a runner but since beginning LC in August of 2008, I barely have the energy for it. Before that I did fairly well. No competitions but I ran daily about 3 miles or more. I can handle walking but the running seems too much. Any suggestions?

johndeb420 Tue, Nov-03-09 07:52

personally i have more energy now than i ever had before.i do eat a little fruit now, grapes and cantalope and on race days i'll treat myself to a banana!!!lol.by the way where in wv are you ?i've ran 2 races in huntington

gindorsey Tue, Nov-03-09 12:31

Huntington! Which did you run? I can't seem to work up the nerve to enter. I have a fear of not finishing or coming in last. Not the most confident person in the world!

What do you eat before your runs normally? I can see a banana on race day. Apparently it isn't killing you! Congratulations on your time. That is fantastic!

johndeb420 Tue, Nov-03-09 13:07

i ran the mu alum run and the prestera run for recovery, that one was in the pouring rain..i always just eat a some grapes and a half a banana on race morning..very little before running..you should try one its the best feeling when you cross that finish line
