I really did it

In a day it will be one year since I made two new years resolutions and kept them for a year. I haven,t had a diet coke in one year after three decades of almost 12 cans a day. I also spent the year doing low carb and not only hit my first goal but passed it up by ten pounds :agree: I was laying in a hot bath today thinking about how my easier my very active life is without the extra weight dragging me down . A year ago I spent the whole day just getting my basic barn chores done and was thinking I would be forced to give up my horses if something drastic didn,t change .Well it did me :agree: I decided to live the rest of my life not give it up to take the easier road and become a tv watching couch potato for the remainder of my days. Looking back I am in aw that this time I really did it.

Thankyou. I am still pinching myself, I have been so focused on maintaining the loss that it just finally struck me that I really did it, YAHOO!!!! My resolution for 2018 and beyond is to stop obsessing about the lose skin and wasted years but to enjoy where I am at and stay there.

Congratulations. You discovered the secret of success: focus on the behaviours that improve your health, and stick to them doggedly whether the results are apparent or not. You can choose to eat according to your plan, you cannot choose to lose x pounds a month.

Happy New Year!

Congratulations!
The weight loss is great but even more impressive is the consistency and the change in your life. I want that too! my weight loss is slower (although my anniversary is Jan 10) but I am also focused on "lifestyle" change so it doesn;t matter -- I will be doing this next year and next year and next year...It is good to hear from someone "on the other side" and still setting challenges and sticking to her more active life! Congratulations - and GREAT 2018 to you.   :yay: :yay: :hyper:
