Anybody in Vancouver? Or BC?

Hi all,

I am an over fifty female living near downtown Vancouver. I have been through the mill with weight loss. Looks like this time I have got it because I am 14 pounds away from my goal. It ain't over till I've been on maintenance for a while so am here for the long haul.

Available to be a buddy or friend to anyone on their journey. I am originally from northern BC so drop me a line.

Hi and welcome to the Canada board! If you're ever coming over to Victoria, be sure to post on here to let us know when, and we might be able to gather up the local gals for a low-carb lunch somewhere!

We have a monthly thread for planning our lunch or dinner each month - have a peek and, any time you're coming over, drop a note in that thread and we'll be sure to see it!

PS to above. Congrats on your terrific success so far! That's a real accomplishment and you're right, maintenance ain't a "walk in the park" either!

I'll echo Glenda's invite to hop on the ferry and come visit us anytime!

Julie

PS - awesome progress!

Hi,
I saw the thread and that is cool. Unfortunately the past few years I haven't gone to Victoria. I used to live there.

Thanks for the Invite.

i was born and raised in Vancouver but now im in the sunny Okanagan.

Where were you up north? We love to travel BC :)

felix_thec Tue, Nov-04-08 19:13

Hi cygirl,

I was born raised in Fraser Lake which is about a hundred miles west of Prince George on Highway 16.

I went to high school in Prince George and lived there for a few years.

Where in the beautiful, sunny Okanagan are you?

Have a happy LC week.

cygirl Tue, Nov-04-08 20:33

Sunny Summerland and my hubby lived in Prince George before we met....

Last year we camped for a couple months all over BC,but havent spent a winter in PG bet its harsh for a Van girl like me.

I like it here, dry and sunny most of the time.

I would like to drive the Alaska highway next year :agree:

My sister and brother still live in Prince George. I agree about harsh weather. Even in Vancouver today the wind was cold. Or maybe I've lost a lot of insulation?

cygirl Thu, Nov-06-08 17:25

Felix did you get rain today?

I had sun in the morning,a little rain and then a little snow. Now the sun is back out.Mountains have fresh snow.I walked the lake today :)

Yep thats our winters.

Do you go to PG for visits?

felix_thec Thu, Nov-06-08 19:33

Yep we got 50 mm. More tomorrow. I walked the seawall in the afternoon and it was rainy when I started out then stopped 3/4 of the way. No sun but still nice and warm. The north shore mountains all have a dusting of snow. They closed the Grouse Grind because of high rainfall.

I last went to PG on Christmas '06 when I was with family. That was a great time and it was also a sentimental journey.

Take care,
