New Book

Hello. I have been a lurker and am comfortable enough now to say hello to everyone and was wondering what the opinions are out there with the new book?

Likes, dislikes, etc... I would be interested in opinions.

One other question, do you think Dream Whip is okay? It has 1 gram of sugar, but sugar is listed as the first ingredient! What do you all think?

Thank you for your input.

Jeanie

Hi Jeanie! I wouldn't eat dream whip. If you NEED a whipped topping, why not just use real whipping cream? Just don't over do it! I think it is better to avoid all the weird chemical additives they put in those things.

I took the new SB book out of the library. Its ok. It has a lot more info in it then the original, which is good. I like Michel Montignac's book best, but it is hard to find right now. Montignac is called the father of SB, and his book has a lot of great information. The recipes in the new SB book are kind of hoity toity... I don't think I will ever use them even if they sound good. Too complicated!

Hi jeanie

and welcome! :)

I agree with Monet that the recipes aren't everyday fare. I wish they hadn't wasted so much book space with recipes most people won't try.

There is some good info in the new book but I think the Authors still aren't as clear as they could be.

Still I love SB & its been good to me.

molly

ps --- I wouldn't eat the Dream Whip either. I try to stay away from processed stuff.
