Dukan Diet, anyone?

Hi, I'm new here and new to the Dukan diet. Six days in and fairly happy with it, tomorrow is protein/veggi day so I'm looking forward to that! Anyone here following this plan?

After doing a search I see this WOE isn't popular here.

What exactly is the Dukan diet?

I was doing Dukan for a few months. As weight loss goes, it worked perfectly for me. I didn't have any cravings, either. The reason I stopped it was that after a while I started having badly upset stomach on veggie days. I couldn't find any explanation to it, and it doesn't happen when I eat veggies on a daily basis. It was pretty bad, so I had to quit. Hope it works for you though!

When I first heard about the Dukan diet I took a look at it, but decided I preferred the far more simple approach of early Atkins….I always know exactly what to eat on Atkins, and that alone makes it a plan that I could easily incorporate into my life with stressing about it all.

To answer the question below, DUKAN is a strict low carb approach. It alternates phases of Pure Protein (days when only proteins are allowed, no veggies at all), and PV (Protein and vegetables, including starch veggies); it also focus on low fat. It is extremely limitative, only no fat cheese and dairy, grilled meats and fish, no nuts.

Last week I restarted on the LC after a long-ish hiatus, and I tried out Dukan, given to the international hype.
In fact, I naturally drifted back to a simpler approach, keeping some points.
On one side, I find that the Pure Protein phase is too severe, and limits too much preparation of REAL FOOD. I think food is part of life, and not life part of food, so it is important to me that it can be followed for long term; the idea of one day of Pure Protein per week for LIFE is scary for me.

Excessive frustration drives cheating, at least for me.

That said, I keep from the Dukan methodology the Galette of Oat Bran. ;) good way to make on the go LC sandwiches and wraps.
