Newbie needs to lose weight
Have struggled with my weight all of my adulthood, especially after my wife and I had kids. Topped out at 312 lbs. After our second child, I committed to losing weight, eating better and (mostly) exercising a lot. Went down to 230 and felt pretty good.
Then we had an unexpected pregnancy, which ended up being twins. Food has always been my go-to when stressed, and stress has been an all-time high since these babies were born. Have gained over 50 lbs in a year and a half, and don't have time or energy to exercise like I used to. Atkins seems like a good plan that will work for me. Started on Monday 6/11/18 at 286.4. Getting back to 230 is a huge goal for me, ultimate goal is 200. Perhaps keeping track here and getting feedback will assist. Thanks for reading! |
You have come to the right place!!!
I like DANDR because no exercise is necessary--- laundry, carrying little ones, up and down stairs.. THAT is exercise! I took my kids along for the journey of better eating, and they are now slim trim teens hitting 6 feet and 150 pounds rock solid. Stress-- yes, it is normal to reach for carbs because it increases the seratonin that makes us feel better. MANY options that can do this job. Take the kids for a walk....and many more options. Welcome! |
Thanks Arielle!

Hi, gs37. :) Welcome! I, too, think DANDR is a great plan. Dr. Atkins was so positive and helpful in his books.
I wish you very happy success. :) |
Also the DANDR rules are posted under the Atkins plan. Induction is sticky 1; OWL sticky 2.

Hey GS, welcome! This whole thing is a learning process, and you are gonna feel so much better, have so much more energy, you’ll wonder why you waited so long! Happy trails!!
