hi-
that is great, MIW!

about the Stress Eating Cure, I did read it. It is another variation of CALP- with the carb meal called the "Big Breakfast"- you can scroll down the threads and there is at least one where someone wrote about it. I want to have my RM at dinner so I can share it with Dh, friends and feel more "normal".

Had chili cheese burgers last night on thin bun, spinach and salad. DH had berries and yogurt and chocolate too.

I am not sure what dinner is tonight- I have soup on my mind but may not have the ingredients. RM may be salad, cauliflower, meatballs, fruit.

How I set myself up for sucess:

I am going into my stretch at work which ends up being 14 hour days due to our commute. I am making a big batch of spaghetti for dinner tonight with double meat in the sauce, as well as enough for the leftovers to be made into spaghetti pie (google it, easy and delicious!). I also boiled up a batch of eggs to have for quickie snacks out of the fridge for Hubby and the kids while I am at work. I have a whole rabbit fryer thawing in the sink for Hubby to bake up tomorrow to be used in enchiladas and curry for the next couple of days after.

I have my meals packed and ready for tomorrow:

B- boiled egg, canadian bacon, 2 long pc of celery with cream cheese, plus I will get an iced decaf americano with cream and cinnamon while on my break to eat

L- a big salad that is half a head of iceberg lettuce shredded up, 1 C diced cauliflower, 1/2 C shredded mozarella cheese, 2 TBSP blue cheese crumbles, and 3 TBSP of blue cheese salad dressing, 2 large meatballs diced up and thrown in. (I reserve the salad dressing in a different container until right at eating time otherwise the salad will wilt!_

D- whatever Hubby has ready when I get home. Most likely more spaghetti or spaghetti pie if he makes it.

Today I wasn't hungry and was so elated at being at 221 I didn't eat breakfast or snack.

L- Same large salad identical to how I described above
D- will be spaghetti, a large salad, a bowl of ice cream or maybe an almond joy.

The Stress Eating Cure

So, yesterday was my first day trying The Stress Eating Cure. I was a bit skeptical and worried that I would be hungry later in the day but turns out I was wrong! I love it! My moods were noticeably more stable, I had much more patience, and don't think I got frazzled once. With two young kids running around at the tail end of this LONG Christmas break, I think that's pretty amazing!
:) And the best part of all, I wasn't ravenous like I am when I have my RM in the evening.

Big Breakfast (8am) - 2 eggs on 2 pieces of toast with butter/coconut oil, several homemade donut holes, 1/2 cup homemade strawberry frozen yogurt, 1 cup Chai Tea

Didn't get hungry until about 2pm
L - 1 hamburger patty with cheese and mustard

I could have easily skipped dinner but thought I should eat something little.
D - 2 ham & cheese roll-ups with mayo and mustard

AND <squeal!> I'm down almost 1/2 pound this morning! Woo hoo!
I think I found my sweet spot!

Congratulations! A fellow list member for a list I was once on, called herself the "Baroness of Breakfast" because she loved having her rm's at breakfast :)

For me, eating the big meal in the morning would put too much stress on family eating in the evenings. I would say I am happier with large meal for noon or evening, depending on how my day pans out.

Hi everyone,

I have been busy and have not checked in here for awhile, but I am doing great!

I tweaked my program in November so I could get the last of my weight off. I am still following the guidelines of CALP, but I am also watching my calories. What I have found is that following CALP keeps my appetite under control and I am having no problems eating less calories because I am never hungry outside of my meal times.

I am not fond of weighing my food and watching my calories, but I know that it is temporary. As a matter of fact, according to fitday.com, I should reach 125 lbs., by February 14, and I believe that will be close to my ideal weight.

As soon as I reach the weight I want to be, I will continue with CALP and go back to following the guidelines without having to go through all the hassle of what I am doing now.

Wishing you all the best!

Speaking of breakfast...

I am posting a new recipe I came up with this morning for a breakfast quiche in my journal. Was quite satisfying.

hi-
Hi Teri! Happy 2013- sounds like you are doing great!
I have my carb meal at dinner-
this plan lets us figure out what works for us!

Made a bean stew with lots of veggies and chicken sausage yesterday. Tonight we are going over to a friends and then a movie. I have no idea what will be for dinner. We have known these people for years but this is the first time we are invited to their house. So no telling what dinner might be.

Tomorrow will be chicken breasts, salad, baked potato, and spinach.

Interesting article (ignore what is being marketed)

Article on a 12 week diet/exercise change this man went through Just look at what he ate before and what he ate to lose the fat and build muscle...very much in line with lower carb.
