Has anyone tried this recipe found on some of the boards? It sounds good but I have no idea what nanaimo bars are - we don't have them in Connecticut - we are pretty far from Nanaimo!
I'm tempted to try the recipe for a party next week
Thanks
I haven't tried the recipe yet, but I do have it printed out, ready to do for Christmas. I just haven't had time to do a pre-test.
I hope it is good, cause "real" Nanaimo bars are to die for!!
I don't have the recipe in front of me, but I believe that it takes sugar free pudding mix, which is another problem for me. All I can get here on the good ole prairies is fat free  We need some education!!!!
I have a brother coming from B.C. for Christmas, and they can get Keto products there, so I was going to get their pudding mix to have on hand.
All this big long story to say...try the bars!!!!

I made these this weekend. Let me put it this way - I wouldn't go all the way to Naniamo for them. . . They aren't bad but the bottom layer isn't great either. I think the top 2 layers are pretty good but if you make them use unsalted butter in that middle layer. If I ever made these again I would make a different bottom layer with almond flour and butter and maybe some unsweetened coconut. Of course I have never had a Nanaino bar before so I can't compare them to the original.
For what it is worth my husband thought they weren't bad - not great but not bad. He doesn't like any of my low carb recipes so that is saying something!

Hi Catmom, :)
I stopped making Nanaimo bars years ago because they disapear so fast that after all that work I barely have the chance to eat one.
I have not seen the LC recipe yet but an almond nutty bottom would be a good replacement fot the graham wafer crust.

I'm sad that you don't like the bars....Did you use the recipe that is in the reader's recipes on this site? I have two recipes, and I was just wondering. I will try them this week, and get a comparison to give you. I'm just not sure what to do about the vanilla pudding. I will have to experiment.

The one I mad was called something like "Crystal's So Good You Won't Believe They Are Low Carb Nanaimo Bars". They weren't terrible but I wouldn't rave about them the way other have. Maybe it's me though. I didn't like the recipe for the French Silk Pie either.
