How depressing it is to work so hard - for 3 weeks...losing 10 pounds, get company and now I've gone back to my old way of eating....those darn sugars....I could use some encouragement...help!

Debra -
You have done so well - don't be hard on yourself! "Falling off" for a couple days is easy to do when you have company (or special functions to go to, etc). Just start fresh today and you'll feel better in no time! We all will have days where we made bad choices - sugar can be soooo tempting! I feel off last Saturday night and felt horrible after! But, started again on Sunday and just taking it one day at a time.....
Keep the Faith - you can do it!

I'm just afraid I can't get my discipline back...I only get that much will power about once every 2 years...Hope I didn't use it all up! Thanks so much for the words of encouragement....the company's my son, daughter-in-law and grandson...maybe, I'm losing it because they will be going back to florida next week...I already miss them....

Debra -
Try to make "better" choices till your family leaves - maybe you won't feel as bad. When they leave just try to jump right back into your old SG routine... sounds easy huh? Lol... everyday is a challenge for me, I try to focus on how much better I feel on the program versus off. Hope that helped a little....

You're problem reminded me of something I learned at Weight Watchers. If you're going down the freeway and miss the exit, you don't just say to yourself, "Oh well, I blew it. I might just as well keep going." You turn around ASAP and head the other way. Same thing with WOE and WOL. There's no way to be perfect in anything we do -- including changing our diet and losing weight.
Company is hard but you can do it. If you were an alcoholic and they were all drinking, they wouldn’t expect you to drink. Also, watching the kids leave is difficult. The only thing that would be worse is if they weren't able to function on their own. So be happy that you raised them to be independent. Thinking of them leaving while they're there, robs you of some of the pleasure of having them visit. I know whereof I speak. I'm in UT and have kids in CA, AZ and VT.
Just think how excited they will be for you when you see them again and you've reached your goal weight. Remember that there's no sugary food that's going to make you feel as good as achieving your goal. Good luck. Diane
