I am in week two of induction. I have been doing great. I think I am going to the health food store and I heard they have a lot of low carb sweets. I don't have time to make anything. Can anyone recommend something sweet already made that I can get?? I have being reading about these "hidden carbs" and now I am scared to eat anything made!!
BTW, I just got a "Pure Protein" bar in lemon flavor and it is GROSS.
YUCK :(

ckone,
Well, I hate to be the one to have to tell you this, but chocolate is definitely not on the list of foods allowable on the Induction stage of the Atkins diet. :tears:
The good news is that it is possible to eat low carb chocolate treats on OWL! And there are lots of delicious recipes in the Recipe section of this forum. (One of my personal faves is the Chocolate Peanut Butter cups. MMMM)
IMHO, the best part of making things yourself as opposed to buying treats is that you know what's in them and how many carbs they contain. There seem to be hidden carbs in a lot of products sold as low carb.

This is the last week I am in the induction period of the program. I am going to this huge health food store and want to pick up something sweet for next week.
Does anyone know of any sweet treats that can be eaten in extreme moderation and bought, not made?

I am also a chocoholic. I really like some candy bars made by carbolite. I eat them quite often and it doesn't seem to affect me too much. You have to watch how much you eat of them because the can act as a laxative. That keeps me from eating too much. I hope this helps. If they slow down your weight loss or make you stall then stop eating them.
I hope this helps.

Atkins makes a chocolate almond brownie bar that is fantastic!! and only 2 grams of carbs.
Also, nestle fat free hot cocoa mix, 5 grams carbs per envelope.
