I have been trying to find information online about the exact carb count for Equal and Splenda, and have found nothing but a lot of contradicting information. The Splenda packaging says <1 g of carb, but that could be anywhere from .001 to .999!!! I've seen it stated that it should be counted as 1 carb per serving and I've also seen it stated that it should be counted as 0 carbs. I am having great success so far with my diet, but I have been counting my sweeteners as 1 carb just in case, which makes my carb count for the rest of my daily intake pretty meager. Can anyone tell me how these sweeteners are being counted in their diets, or if they are supposed to be counted at all?
Thanks,
Dixie

With carb counting, all carbs are counted. Granular type sweeteners fall into that category, but not the liquid.
Here are a few links to the subject:
Measuring sweeteners, granular type vs. paper packets (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4953&highlight=sweeteners)
Twin and other Sugar Substitutes (http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=341927&highlight=carbs+in+sweeteners#post341927)
And at the top of the page under Low-Carb Tips is a great article called Sweetener Information.
