I really love this program but I want to lose 10 pounds and in a month on this program have lost nothing. I work out daily, alternating weight training with cardio and follow the program pretty strictly. I am wondering if I need to adjust a bit but don't know which way to go, down on calories, fat, carbs. Am eating 1,600 - 1,900 calories a day, am 5'8" and currently at 162, I have weight to lose in my mid-section. Don't know what to do?????

Sounds to me like you are doing just fine, JML12. Keep in mind that you are probably gaining muscle as you lose fat, which is probably offsetting on the scale. Especially when you are so close to your goal. Also, as I am sure you read in TSP, your body will find its optimum configuration. And weight really doesn't mean as much as how you look and feel.

Check your measurements. I am sure you will notice a change there.

Also, one more thing to keep in mind is that when you are really close to your goal, it goes a lot, much, much, slower than if you have a bunch to lose.

I am nowhere near my goal and I am lucky to lose 2 pounds a month. But I am revelling in how well I feel and my body is getting thinner even when the scales don't say I am. I've gone down from a 26/28 to an 18/20 in 25 pounds.

And last but not least I have to tell you about Robin. She's a friend of mine at work. About a month after I started on TSP, I found out that she had been doing it for almost 10 months. She started out because she wanted to lose about 10 pounds and also get her cholesterol under control. In all this time, she hasn't "lost" the weight, but she is in better shape, her cholesterol is now in the range that most people would envy (her triglycerides are 32), and she looks like she lost 10 pounds.

So keep working at it. The exercise will tone your muscles, the low-carbing will give your body the building blocks to build lean muscle mass, and you will reap the benefits.

patience. The easiest advice in the world to give and the hardest to take. Give yourself time to heal and improve.

If your concern is health, believe you're getting healthier. If your concern is cosmetic/not liking how you look, consider doing some reading in body image improvement.

HTH!
