I strongly suspect that I have candida, and I am pretty sure that I have done for at least a decade. I was also told by a nurse that she thought I had it, but I foolishly ignored her, branding her a "quack" as I was ignorant of the condition and felt she was trying to sell me supplements.. (It was in a health food store and I was there to be tested for food sensitivities... as always, on the quest to find out what was "wrong" with me, not feeling good, yet living on "healthy" food... LOL! bread, pasta, rice!!!! of course, this was all pre-pre-pre low carb).
So, my question is, does anyone here know where on the web, or in a book, I can find out all I need to know to control this? I find the info in the new and old atkins books quite limited.
I want to get going on this, like, yesterday!
thanks guys!

Dr. William G. Crook has written a number of books. The one I have is called the Yeast Connection Handbook. This is a good place to start. Also see the sources and references string that Doreen has put together. It is at the top of the Candida section.

If you check out my thread called "Important Candida Info" you can read about my experience in treating this disease.

Most importantly, I would go to a Naturopath or a Naturopathic college and get them to properly diagnose you and treat the Candida. You won't regret properly ridding yourself of Candida.

Good luck and follow the MD's orders! :)
