I don't know. I think it's easier to boil them for 10 minutes on the gas ring. Also it uses about 3 times less energy

I don't know. I think it's easier to boil them for 10 minutes on the gas ring. Also it uses about 3 times less energyI nuke mine for 2 min in a NordicWare microwave cooker or ceramic bowl unshelled. Sometimes I add fresh ground black pepper, bacon bits or diced susuage or a dash of salsa before cooking. They make a quick and fresh snack that way.325°F. for half an hour ...Next time I bake meat ill add a few eggs, probably wraped in foil-- I sometimes do that with whole fresh garlic bulbs, onions or new potatoes. It only takes a few minutes for the garlic though
Oooh ... I just remembered, I need to season my hamburger patties with onion and garlic powder for the holiday weekend :yum:

If you wanted to do a HUGE number of eggs this would be a good method.

It also would be good if you had the oven on anyway.
I don't use the oven in hot weather because I don't like to heat the house up, but I could see doing this in the winter when the energy used becomes heat for the house.

I've done them in the oven before. It works ok mostly. But of course if you don't have a convection oven your eggs don't always cook evenly in my experience. Also I noticed my eggs turned out to have an almost rubbery texture when cooked this way, however that could have probably been remedied by cooking them at a higher heat for a shorter time instead.
