I've done bacon-wrapped shrimp and artichoke hearts, very good; any other ideas for bacon-wrapped protein or veggies? I may try small wedges of cabbage or broccoli stalks next.

You could wrap cheese in bacon and then warm it up so the cheese melts.
Asparagus stalks
scallops
any kind of meat
Chicken
I wonder if you could bacon wrap a turnip or other potato substitute and make it taste like a potato skin appetizer.

I did bacon wrapped celeriac last night (well, it would have been wrapped but I had no toothpicks so the bacon fell off. That was pretty tasty!
Bacon wrapped mushrooms are good too.
You might try Googling bacon wrapped vegatables and see what pops up on recipe sites.

What is celeriac...is it in the celery family? Man there are so many veggies out there that I never knew existed.
The mushrooms sound yummy

Celeriac is celery root. Supposedly when you buy it, choose one that feels heavy and has no dents (according to Sunny Anderson on The Food Network). I recommend giving this a try even if you don't like celery as I didn't notice a big celery flavor (although I've seen at least one person say otherwise).

You can also make hamburger patties and wrap them up in bacon and bake them on 350 for about 30 mintues, then as soon as they come out, put a slice of cheese on top, then put that on a piece of lettuce with mayo. mustard etc. with another piece of lettuce on top. those are awesome. and yes those bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos are very good too.

Oooohhh .... yes! That's the one. I thought someone had posted that whole thing right on here somewhere. Anyhow, that would work for almost anything you wanted to bacon-wrap! I think it would be wonderful as a blanket for a meatloaf! The sky, and your imagination, is the limit!!!!!

It's called a "bacon log" and it's posted a couple of times on this site.

Ooh. That just looks too yummy. :yum:
That bacon log wouldn't even last 5 minutes in my house.
Oh yeah. I could have a lot of fun with this; baby spinach, jalepenos, cheese...etc.
Ooh...I'm drooling. :D
