I've been looking at LC dips for x-mas dinner. A few I've tried, the ones with mayo as a base, I didn't like any of them. I've been looking and reading and if I keep trying, I'm going to go broke! I've come up with my own, it sounds pretty good. I wanted your responses and general input. Thanks!

16 0z cream cheese
1 pkg ranch dressing mix
4 green onion (the tops)
1 C ? crumbled bacon

I've also considered adding 1/2 C cheese, not shure if it will be to much.

I would appreciate any input!

When I'm trying new recipes, I make very small partial batches to limit wasted ingredients. :)

Commercial Ranch dressing powder contains MSG and sugar (maltodextrin.) If you would like to avoid those additives, you might find this nice little recipe handy. You would mix it with mayo to make Ranch dressing, but for your dip, just mix it with the other ingredients you listed. :)

Nikkic's Dry Ranch Dressing Mix
http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/lowcarb-recipe-help-suggestions/498876-3-ingredient-recipes-6.html

Amount of dry buttermilk you'd use to equal one cup liquid
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tbs dry parsley
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/8 tsp cayennne (optional)
1 tsp of splenda

Mix well and store in the fridge. If you want to reconstitue it add the amount of butter milk called for with 1 cup of mayo. Leave the cayenne out if you don't want any heat.
