Has anyone managed to make a home made syrup using any kind of sweetner?

I just use splenda, cinnamon and butter. It works great for me as a syrup substitute.

I think Blaine (find his recipes on the Discovery Channel website) uses water and Splenda to make a simple syrup. Then you can flavor it as you choose - using extracts, fruits, etc.

Maple/Pancake syrup? Any other flavours in mind?
