when i hear of people eating that, i am like what!!!!!! what are deviled eggs, are they the same as poached eggs. im thinking always that deviled eggs are the same as hard boiled, but i guess not......

take a hard boiled egg, cut it in half, take out the yolk, mix it with mayo and any spice you like , perhaps a bit of mustard, then fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture, that is a deviled egg.

I sometimes add avocado or wasabi to the egg yolks. Ever tried picklesd eggs?A Basic Pickled Eggs Recipe
Ingredients:
2-cups vinegar
2-tsp salt
1-clove garlic
12 hard cooked eggs
3-tbsp sugar (sub splenda)
1-1/2 tsp pickling spice
Preparation:
Combine all ingredients except the HB eggs.
Boil 5 minutes, Pour over eggs & refrigerate.

I learned a good way to make sure devilled eggs taken to a 'bring a plate' occasion look nice after I posted on another board about the mess mine got into when I prepared them in advance and carried them there!
You go through all the process except for filling the whites with the mixture and pack the cut up halves in tupperware with the yolk mixture separate in a plastic bag.
Once arrived at the party lay out the halves and snip the corner off the bag of devilled yolks. You can then squeeze out the yolk mixture attractively into the halves.

I like them best with paprika sprinkled on top. Yum! :yum: Also, they make a great appetizer for Thanksgiving.
