I made this a few nights back. I followed the directions exactly and really wasn't impressed, it was missing something. My daughter suggested a little taco sauce and that was it!

I like to brown it with a little onion, green pepper, and garlic. Then I'll throw in a small can of tomato sauce and some seasonings like red pepper flakes or some steak seasoning. You can also throw in a little hot sauce if you like. I then let it simmer so all the flavors can meld together.

Brown a pound of hamburger with a medium chopped onion and a bit of garlic. Once browned, drain a little of the grease out (not all of it). Add half a small head of cabbage chopped. Salt and pepper, cover, stirring occasionally until cabbage is cooked down.

Cheap and yummy!

I also did this method in the past to make what I called a wilted salad. It was great for people who aren't used to alot of raw veggies and are easing into it.

Basically you brown up the hamburger, then dump it including hot oil over romain leaves, or for even more cooking shread the lettuce into the pan and cook it with the hamburger. Comes out great.

Other ideas include:
Stuffed peppers
stuffed zucchini
mock shepards pie
One of the many hamburger patty recipies. I think someone posted a list of well over 100 in one thread.
Sloppy Joes minus the bun (hoamde sauce of course)
Tacos or taco salad

It's kind of funny. When I was a kid hamburger was the "poor man's" meat more, so we had tons. These days I can't afford much burger and it's alot of chicken being eaten.
