Does anyone eat the fruit (berries) that they sell frozen in the frozen food department?
I was wondering how it tastes, compared with fresh? I have a hard time keeping my strawberries fresh in the refrigerator, I only like to grocery shop once a week. Any ideas?

They're nothing like fresh. Very mushy once thawed, and very sweet. You wouldn't want to eat them plain, but they're pretty good in shakes, yogurt, muffins, etc. I like to throw some thawed strawberries plus some heavy cream into SF strawberry jello.

I like frozen strawberries and blueberries. I haven't had good luck with frozen raspberries - they tend to be too mushy when I thaw them out.

I like tossing 1/4 cup of thawed berries into LC vanilla yogurt - it's really good! In fact, it's almost better than fresh, because there is some liquid that mixes well with the yogurt.

Is it possible to buy fresh strawberries, freeze them, and then thaw them when needed? Will they be mushy?
I want to eat them as is, I guess my best bet is to buy them fresh?

I want to eat them as is, I guess my best bet is to buy them fresh? They will still be mushy when thawed. Chop strawberries into small bits and eat them frozen. Blueberries and raspberries are good partially thawed.

I like frozen berries. They are picked when they're ripe and are much tastier that fresh, out-of-season berries. :)
