I bought a mesh sleeve of 6 garlics about 2 months ago. How long does garlic lasts? They haven't changed color at all, not mushy either.
TIA

It entirely depends on many factors, so there is no definative answer unfortunately. For garlic to last longest, keep it in a very dry, non humid, dark, cool (nut NOT cold) place, away from other food (except for dry onions). As long as its not mushy, shriveled or moldy it is fine to use. When it sprouts it is still fine to use, and the sprouts are mighty tastey as well. :yum:

I store my garlic at room temp. in an unglazed ceramic jar with holes in the sides, called a "Garlic Keeper". It keeps for a very long time! However, I think it turns bitter once it sprouts, but I guess that's a matter of personal taste :o

I'm not a big fat of garlic sprouts (called 'scapes'). A lot of people love them, though.
