is it virgin or processed though? Most processed has a really grainy texture that may effect the chocolate. The taste is kind of nasty as well.
Try the recipe and see how it coems out and let us know. If it doesn't go that well try the wildernessfamilynaturals site.

Just made a batch of chocolate last night, yum! Also fried some chopped rutabaga in it, that was very good also.

Wow. I had to reread that twice. I was trying to figure out how you fried rutabegga in chocolate, or if you chopped it up and put it in the chocolate.

I have two kinds of coconut oils. Pure Coconut oil (for frying) which is extracted from dried coconut meat. And Extra Virgin Coconut oil (as nutritional supplement - also good on salads but no for frying) that is made from fresh coconut.
It seems to be a bit more complex than that. You can read more about it here:

Welp all this one says on it is "100% Pure Coconut Oil" and thats about it. Was ALOT cheaper then that site that Ladybelle posted, only 2 or 3 $ for the big can.
The recipe came out MUCH closer to chololate them my attempts with out it, but I think I used to much splenda.. I used a packet and a half for 1 big tablespoon of coco.

Hi all~ Ladybelle, question for you. Which one do you buy and which one is better in your opinion? The centrifuge extracted or the traditional Phillipine process? I've been using the Garden of Life extra virgin co but I want to buy more at one time not just a 16 oz jar. Thanks....;)

I think LC chocolate needs cocoa butter, not coconut oil...

I buy Omega Nutrition's (http://www.omeganutrition.com/products-gourmet-coconut.php) coconut oil, but their biggest size seems to be 32 oz. That's a good idea, though; buying it in bulk.

I have 2 kinds of coconut oil. I get Spectrum Naturals organic, and just yesterday got Now Virgin and there is definitely a difference. The vco is smoother in texture and tastes more clearly of coconut. I'll use the cheaper Spectrum Natural for cooking and the Now vco as a supplement. I'm always cold, and lose extremely slowly so I hope this will make a difference.
The Now vco says it wet-process method from fresh coconut milk.

I always buy the very good oils (olive and other) in small bottles. They do not stay fresh forever. The hard-to-find oils I buy I have frozen before and bring them out when I need them and that has worked. The only 'bulk' oil I buy is vegetable oil and never more than 24 ounces at a time unless I know I will be using it within two weeks.
