Hi Everyone!

I just purchased the Keto Apple Cinnamon Hot Cereal. I followed the directions of using 3-5 oz hot water to two scoops of cereal. I did this and let it set about 4-5 minutes. My question is, while it tasted great, is it always so chewy? I was wondering if it would make a difference to add the water to the cereal and then microwave it for a couple of minutes. Would that make it not so chewy? Just wondering if anyone else has wondered about this. Otherwise I will just chew harder! ha Thanks

I tried the Keto apple cinnamon hot cereal last weekend and had problems not only with the texture, but especially with the taste. I thought it was dreadful.

Did you follow the directions exactly? I had to add extra water after the initial microwave-and-let-stand period, and microwave it some more. Even after letting it sit again, it remained chewy, and I could not stand the bitter artificial sweetener aftertaste. I have no idea how I'm going to be able to finish the can. I had much better luck making homemade flax seed/pecan cereal this morning. Hmm, I wonder if I add little bits of it to the flax cereal, if I can tone down the taste of the Keto without ruining the flax...

I microwave 6 oz. water in a Pyrex measuring cup to boiling, then add it to two scoops of the Apple Cinnamon Hot Cereal. I stir it up really well (making sure there are no lumps of dry cereal mix) and then let it sit for six minutes. It's never too chewy. Good luck on your LC journey!!!

Thanks for the info. Maybe I did not let it sit long enough. I will try it again tomorrow morning and make sure I let it absorb more of the water. I really liked the flavor. But right now I think I am eating alot of things that before lcing I would have turned my nose up at. I have been on this since 5/13 and basically trying to follow induction with a few additions like nuts and I just recently added the atkins pancakes (which so many say are really gross, but I thought they were good. But after almost three months lcing with no flour type food I was beginning to think Benny's (my golden retriever) rawhide chew toy looked good! ha) and now the hot cereal. Thanks again!

I always add a bit extra water, then "re-nuke" it for a minute after it sits.
